Aakash Tablet:- an upgraded version is coming...
After the failure of "Aakash 1" version of tablet, which is being said that it's because of IIT-Rajasthan, the manufacturing of the device had been stopped and the ministry and Datawind, the manufacturer of the tablet, were focusing on Aakash 2, an upgraded version of the tablet.
Datawind said that IIT-Bombay is in the process of testing low-cost tablet PC 'Aakash' with upgraded specifications proposed by it.
IIT Bombay is in the process of testing the samples and developing applications and content for engineering colleges.Datawind has submitted 100 samples to IIT-Bombay and the institute is expected to provide a feedback in a couple of weeks. The specifications for the revised version of 'Aakash' will be finalised by the end of June.
Meanwhile, Datawind launched a commercial version of the tablet in April this year in the price range of Rs 3,000- 4,000.There are lots of expectations from this version of "Aakash". Lets hope for better...
